Diversity and Inclusiveness
Shepherd PLLC is a diverse and dynamic firm, quickly growing and emerging as a sophisticated boutique law firm in the Rocky Mountain region. Shepherd PLLC is committed to building a flexible, diverse employee group and progressive workplace. Our founder and managing partner, Willie Shepherd, understands that a philosophy of diversity and inclusion is imperative to maintaining a collaborative culture. Additionally, our firm’s leadership personally oversees recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring diversity among attorneys, including breadth of industry expertise, practice area skills, thinking styles, generational representation, gender, and ethnicity.
Shepherd PLLC recognizes that top management must be committed and engaged if diversity programs are to succeed. From the beginning, our founding members have provided consistent leadership to ensure diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the business, offering everyone an opportunity to be heard and the flexibility to succeed. This includes a tangible commitment to young law professionals through mentoring, development and hiring programs and encouraging community involvement with a particular eye towards organizations that promote and support diversity in the community.
Attorneys from the firm are involved in organizations that work directly with minority and underserved populations. Among the many laudable groups included in this work is the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and programs aimed at addressing issues of education and workforce, helping to implement programs ensuring all Colorado students, particularly those from underserved minority populations, have access to education and receive the support needed to be successful. Through these organizations, our attorneys are actively creating and sustaining opportunities for minority men and women throughout the legal industry.
We recognize that creating equal opportunities is an imperative beyond just the legal sector. Therefore, the firm plays an active role in supporting diversity and opportunity in the Denver community. Specifically, we actively support Junior Achievement of America and the Denver Rescue Mission through the volunteer work of our attorneys.
In addition to providing superior quality legal services, Shepherd PLLC also encourages its attorneys and employees to actively participate in civic and philanthropic activities. Attorneys at Shepherd are actively involved as chairs, directors, volunteers, and members of boards and committees of a variety of nonprofit organizations. Some of the nonprofit organizations in which we have been involved include:

We feel strongly that community service is a vital part of our firm’s business and responsibility to our community.
